Cortland apples are bright red with dark red streaks and sometimes a green blush. Their white flesh is known to be juicy with a both sweet and tart in flavor. They are a cross between the McIntosh and Ben David Apple, originating from Cornell University’s New York State Agriculture Experiment station in 1898.
